The CISA certification is required by many federal agencies and is listed on the DoD 8140/8570 regulation as a requirement for many roles.

Can I apply for a waiver for the experience requirements?

A waiver can be acquired for several types of experience, with a maximum of up to three years waived. A two year college degree can be substituted for one year of experience. A four year college degree can be substituted for two year’s of experience. A maximum of one year of information systems experience or one year of non-IS auditing experience can also be substituted for one year of work experience.
